On 22.02.26, in a match that perfectly captured the spirit and determination of Baltic Youth FC, Freddy reached a fantastic personal milestone his 20th goal of the season for our U10 side. It was a moment that deserved to be celebrated, not only for the number itself, but for everything it represents hard work, resilience, teamwork and steady development throughout the season.
At U10 level, football is about far more than goals. It is about learning the game, supporting one another and building confidence week by week. However, scoring 20 goals in a single season is no small achievement. It reflects Freddy’s sharp eye for goal, his movement off the ball and his growing understanding of when to press forward and when to link up with his teammates.
The goal itself, scored during the 22 February fixture, came as a result of exactly what our coaches Brendan and Justin have been encouraging all season quick passing, positive attacking play and belief in the final third. Freddy found space, stayed composed and finished confidently the kind of finish that shows maturity beyond his years.
But as anyone who looks at the photo of the squad from that day can see, this milestone belongs to more than just one player. The image captures his teammates gathered together during a team talk muddy socks, flushed faces and water bottles in hand. It is a snapshot of grassroots football at its best. These are the moments that shape young players: listening carefully, encouraging each other and taking on guidance from their coaches.
Freddy’s 20th goal would not have been possible without the players around him. Every pass played into his path, every defensive tackle that regained possession and every run made to create space has contributed in some way. That is the beauty of team sport. Individual achievements shine brightest when they are built on collective effort.
Under the guidance of Brendan and Justin, the U10 squad has grown enormously this season. Both coaches have focused on development just as much as results, encouraging the players to express themselves while also understanding their responsibilities on the pitch. The improvement in teamwork, communication and overall confidence has been clear for everyone to see.
Freddy’s progress is a reflection of that environment. He has worked hard in training, listened carefully and continued to develop his strengths. What stands out most is not just the goals, but his attitude. Whether the team is leading comfortably or facing a tough opponent, he keeps pushing forward. That consistency is what separates a good season from a great one.
Reaching 20 goals in February also shows how influential he has been across the entire campaign. It is not a late surge or a lucky run; it is sustained performance. For a young player, that kind of consistency comes from dedication. Turning up to training in all weathers, taking on feedback and supporting teammates even when things do not go to plan those are the foundations behind the headlines.
The pride on matchday was evident. Teammates congratulated him warmly, and there was a genuine sense of shared achievement. In youth football, those celebrations matter. They build friendships, confidence and belief. The squad understands that when one player succeeds, it lifts everyone.
As we look ahead to the rest of the season, there is no doubt Freddy will continue to be a key part of the U10 side’s attacking threat. Yet the focus will remain the same: play as a team, work hard for one another and keep improving week by week. If further goals come and we suspect they will – they will be welcomed as part of that journey.
For now, though, 20 goals is a milestone worth pausing for. It marks a season of growth, commitment and enjoyment of the game. Freddy should be extremely proud of what he has achieved, and so should his teammates who have stood alongside him throughout.
Well done Freddy, here’s to the next one.
