It was another busy and encouraging weekend for Baltic Youth FC, with our teams across several age groups taking to the pitch and representing the club with pride. From our youngest players learning the game to our older squads showing maturity and teamwork, there were plenty of positives to take away from the day.
U8 – Trophy Event
Coach Ashley – written by Ferdinand
Our U8 team took part in a fantastic mini Trophy event today involving four teams, where the young players had the opportunity to play three matches. It was a great environment for the children to enjoy their football, gain valuable match experience and continue developing their understanding of the game.
Across the matches, the team showed excellent enthusiasm, teamwork and positioning. It was particularly pleasing to see how well the players supported one another and worked together on the pitch.
One of the highlights of the day was a brilliant 3–0 victory, where the team demonstrated their attacking strength and confidence going forward. The players moved the ball well and created good chances, which was great to see.
In the final game, the team faced a strong opponent and unfortunately lost 2–0, but the effort and determination from the players remained clear throughout. Even in difficult moments, the team kept trying and showed great spirit.
A special congratulations goes to Samuel, whose determination in defence stood out during the event. His effort and commitment helped the team on several occasions.
Overall, there were many positives from the day, and the players should be proud of their performances.
U9 – 3–1 Victory
Coaches Aran & Warren
The U9s delivered a strong 3–1 win in what was a hard-fought match from start to finish.
With the game played 7-a-side and a large squad available, the coaches had plenty of substitutions to manage throughout the match.
Despite the constant rotation, the boys handled it extremely well and showed great energy whenever they stepped onto the pitch.
The team worked hard both on and off the ball, pressing well and supporting one another throughout the game. It was another example of the positive attitude and effort that this group continues to show each week.
A special mention goes to Misha, who was outstanding in defence and helped keep the opposition under control for large parts of the match.
The Player of the Match award went to Harry, who scored a fantastic goal and showed persistence throughout the game. His determination and work rate made a real difference for the team.
U12 – Strong Team Performance
Coach Fabio
The U12s produced a very pleasing performance today, running out 4–1 winners after an impressive display of teamwork and commitment.
Coach Fabio was particularly pleased with the attitude of the players, something the team has been working hard on in training. From the first whistle to the final minute, the players showed hunger, focus and determination.
What stood out most was how well the team worked together. The players supported one another, defended as a unit and attacked with real intent. There were some excellent passages of play, including clever one-two combinations and good movement both with and without the ball.
The team created several opportunities in front of goal and showed confidence when attacking.
Goals:
Seth – 3
Ryen – 1
Despite missing a few chances earlier in the game, Seth kept his composure and went on to score a superb hat-trick, earning him Man of the Match.
Coach Fabio praised the entire team for giving 100% effort, which is exactly the attitude he wants to see in every match and training session.
U16 & U14 – Club Spirit on Display
Coach Craig, Stuart & Robert
Although many matches across the region have been cancelled since January, it was fantastic to see both our U16 and U14 groups come together today to make sure the players still had the opportunity for valuable game time.
Coach Craig extended a huge thank you to the parents, players and coaches for the excellent turnout and support.
Special appreciation also goes to Nick and Robert, who stepped in to run the line.
The match itself was another reminder of what Baltic Youth FC is all about players, coaches and families coming together to create opportunities for young players to develop and enjoy their football.
Game time is incredibly important for the development of young players, and today showed once again the commitment within the club to ensure our players continue to grow and improve.
Ferdinand's Final Word
Another positive weekend for Baltic Youth FC, with strong performances, great attitudes and plenty of teamwork across all age groups. Well done to all players, coaches and families involved. 💙⚽
