It was another action-packed day for Baltic Youth FC, with teams across multiple age groups delivering performances full of effort, resilience and moments of real quality. From cup progress to hard-fought draws and a place in a final secured, there was plenty for players, coaches and parents to be proud of.
U8 — Through to the Next Round
Coach Ashley’s U8 side produced an outstanding set of performances, recording two wins and a draw to secure their place in the next round of the competition. The young Baltics showed impressive teamwork throughout, using space intelligently and moving the ball with confidence and purpose.
Several players got on the scoresheet, with Finley, Nathan and Matej all finding the net with excellent finishes. Their attacking play caused constant problems for the opposition and highlighted how much the group has developed this season.
At the other end of the pitch, George delivered a superb performance in goal to earn Man of the Match. His shot-stopping kept the team in control during key moments, while his calm distribution helped launch attacks from the back a sign of maturity well beyond his years. A fantastic all-round effort from the squad.
U9 — Pride Despite Defeat
For the U9s, coached by Aran and Warren, it was a day of mixed emotions. Despite a strong overall performance and tremendous fighting spirit, the team suffered a tough defeat that brought an end to a positive run of results.
The coaches praised the players’ determination and effort throughout, noting how proud they were of the whole team. Even when the result slipped away, the boys continued to battle until the final whistle a testament to their character and commitment.
While disappointment was evident, the mood remains optimistic. With the attitude shown, there is every belief that the U9s will quickly return to winning ways.
U10 — Spirited Draw on Silent Weekend
The U10 match, overseen by coaches Justin and Brendan, ended in an entertaining 2–2 draw that showcased grassroots football at its best. Lucca and Seb were on target for Baltic in a competitive contest where both sides played with energy and respect.
Held during the FA Silent Support Weekend, the atmosphere around the pitch was notably different. Instead of instructions from the side-lines, encouragement came through applause and cheers, creating a positive environment for the players to communicate and solve problems themselves.
This was evident in Baltic’s performance, with the team working hard and talking constantly throughout the match. Coaches highlighted the clear progress made over the season, both individually and collectively.
Thabi was named Player of the Match for an excellent display, while Fred earned the Captain’s Pick for his contribution and leadership on the pitch.
U12 — Lessons in a Challenging Game
Coach Fabio’s U12 side faced a difficult test, arriving with only eight players but showing great determination to compete. They started brightly and created early chances, though a lack of clinical finishing prevented them from taking the lead.
The opposition proved dangerous, particularly from set pieces. Two goals conceded from corners exposed an area that the team will need to address moving forward. Despite this setback, Baltic continued to create opportunities and, with greater composure in front of goal, could easily have scored several times.
Fatigue and frustration began to creep in late in the match, affecting defensive tracking and communication, but the players continued to push until the end.
Harshil earned Man of the Match for a highly encouraging performance. Growing in confidence, he demonstrated excellent positioning, decision-making and composure on the ball, while also producing several impressive long passes to support the attack.
U16 — Finals Bound
The headline achievement of the day came from Coach Craig’s U16 squad, who secured their place in the final with a commanding performance. The team controlled the game from start to finish, displaying determination, discipline and high-quality football throughout the full 80 minutes.
Every player contributed to the victory, with standout moments from Harry’s rock-solid defending and Kyden’s tireless work in midfield. The team’s cohesion and commitment reflected the countless hours of training invested over the season.
Special thanks were also given to Nick for running the line and to the parents for their continued support a vital part of the club’s success.
Ferdinand's Final Word Across all age groups, the day highlighted exactly what Baltic Youth FC stands for: teamwork, development, resilience and enjoyment of the game. With cup progression, valuable lessons learned and a final on the horizon, the future continues to look bright for the Baltic family. ⚽
