A Weekend Full of Growth, Character and Big Performances ⚽💙

U8s – Learning Fast and Growing Strong

Written by Coach Ashley, with Ferdinand

The U8s were once again tested in a brilliant development fixture against a very strong Newstreet side who are two seasons ahead in their journey. It was another valuable week of learning for the boys, and they rose to the challenge superbly.

The first game was a fantastic example of how quickly this young side is improving, with Baltic producing a brilliant 4–1 win. The team showed real confidence on the ball, worked well together and made the most of their chances with some lovely passages of play.

The second game proved tougher, with a few lapses in concentration leading to a 6–2 defeat, but even in that match there were still plenty of positives to take away. What continues to stand out with this group is how much they are improving week by week in such a short space of time.

A huge well done goes to Miqueias, who deservedly picked up Player of the Match for an outstanding display in both goal and defence. His confidence, bravery and reading of the game were exceptional.

There is still so much potential to unlock within this talented young group, and the progress being made is exciting for everyone involved. Thank you as always to all parents and families for your support and punctuality.

U9s – Fantastic Effort Without Subs

Coaches Warren & Aran

The U9s may have fallen to a 3–1 defeat, but the scoreline only tells part of the story. With no substitutes available, the boys had to dig deep from the first whistle to the last, and they did exactly that.

The work rate and determination shown by every player was outstanding, especially considering the physical demands of playing the full match without a break. Baltic created plenty of opportunities and, on another day, could easily have added more goals to the scoresheet.

Harry got Baltic’s goal with a well-taken finish, rewarding the team’s attacking pressure.

A special mention also goes to Riley, who stepped up brilliantly in goal and made a number of excellent saves to keep the team in the game.

Man of the Match went to Enes, whose energy, pressing and relentless work rate from start to finish perfectly summed up the spirit of the team. It was a performance full of heart and commitment.

A really proud effort from the whole squad.

U10s – Gully Shines in Tough Test

Coaches Brendan & Justin

The U10s faced a very well-organised Chineham side and were handed a difficult challenge, eventually losing 8–3.

Despite the result, there was a huge individual performance from Gully, who scored all three Baltic goals and was rightly recognised for an exceptional display.

In a rare moment, Gully was awarded both the Captain’s Pick, chosen by Stephen, and Player of the Match. Normally these honours are shared between different players, but his impact on the game made him impossible to overlook. It was thoroughly deserved.

A special mention also goes to Stephen for his hard work and efforts throughout the game.

Baltic found themselves 3–0 down early, which meant the boys were chasing the game from that point onward. Against a side that was extremely well set up, it was difficult to settle into the usual passing rhythm, but the effort and attitude from every player remained strong right until the final whistle.

Even with a few frustrating refereeing moments, the team kept going and never gave up, which says a lot about their character.

U14s – Strong Win and Quality Football

Coaches Stuart & Robert

A fantastic afternoon for the U14s ended with an excellent 4–1 victory over Thatcham Tornadoes.

This was another strong all-round team performance, with several players producing high-quality football and some excellent passages of composed build-up play.

Special mentions this week go to Mitchell and Nico, who each played a half in goal and both did an excellent job.

A huge well done also goes to Dwayne, who had a superb game filled with composed passing and excellent decision-making on the ball.

U16s – Positives Ahead of Finals Push

Coach Craig

The U16s endured a cold afternoon but once again showed commitment, resilience and togetherness.

The first half was particularly strong, with Baltic dominating large spells while the defence stood firm against the occasional Beggerswood attack. Although composure in front of goal was missing at times, the team continued to create chances.

The second half became a battle, and despite a huge push for an equaliser in the final 15 minutes, it just was not Baltic’s day.

There were still many positives to take, especially the fight, determination and willingness to keep going until the end. With five weeks until the finals, the focus now turns to sharpening the weaker areas and building on the many positives shown.

Ferdinand's Final Word

A big thank you to everyone for the commitment shown in difficult conditions the hard work continues. 💙⚽
